EDWARD L. HELTMAN

 Ed Heltman is the founder of MedEvac and a 49-year EMS veteran. Starting as a volunteer in 1975, he rose through leadership roles before launching MedEvac in 1990. He remains active in EMS leadership statewide and still holds his paramedic certification.

JOHN R. “J.R.” HENRY

 J.R. Henry is a veteran EMS leader, consultant, and former Valley Ambulance Chief. He’s known nationally for his expertise in ambulance operations and reimbursement and currently serves as Mayor of West View. 

ROBERT W. FARROW

 Bob Farrow is the retired Chief of Pittsburgh EMS, having served the city for over four decades. He rose through every EMS rank after joining the first class of Pittsburgh Paramedics in 1975. Known for his leadership in emergency response and public health initiatives, Bob now enjoys retirement with his family. 

TODD PRITCHARD

 Todd Pritchard began his EMS career in 1985 and rose to become Executive Director of MRTSA, serving until his retirement in 2019. A dedicated paramedic, instructor, and leader, he helped shape EMS in Allegheny County through both service and education. 

WALT STOY

 Dr. Walt Stoy is a pioneer in EMS education, founding the Emergency Medicine Program at the University of Pittsburgh and co-creating the nation's only BS in Emergency Medicine. With over 40 years in EMS and education, he remains active in national advocacy and continues to advance the field through Citizens Concerned for EMS. 

ROBERT MCCAUGHAN

 Bob McCaughan is a longtime EMS leader and former Chief of Pittsburgh EMS. He also served as VP of Prehospital Care for Highmark and helped build Allegheny Health Network. Though retired, he remains active in EMS advocacy and advisory roles across Pennsylvania. 

BRUNO J. “B.J.” PINO

 B.J. Pino is a retired EMS leader and former COO of Citizens’ Ambulance, with a career spanning nearly 50 years. Known for his innovations in trauma education and rural EMS access, he continues to advocate for the field through board service and community involvement. 

WILLIAM R. MILLER

 Bill Miller began his EMS journey in 1974 and served as a paramedic, educator, and Assistant Chief at Pittsburgh’s Public Safety Training Academy. After becoming a physician assistant in 2004, he practiced emergency medicine until retiring in 2022. He remains active in EMS education and advocacy through Citizens Concerned for EMS. 

DOUGLAS GARRETSON

 Doug Garretson began his EMS career in 1971 and served as Chief of Pittsburgh EMS before leading the Center for Emergency Medicine as President/CEO. Now retired, he remains active in EMS advocacy and continues to support the profession through leadership and education.
